Animal studies have revealed that resveratrol protects against skin damage and cancer caused by ultraviolet radiation (in particular, the most damaging component of ultraviolet radiation - UVB).   Not only did resveratrol protect against damage and cancer before UBV exposure, but it helped heal and protect against cancer after UVB exposure.Â
Further, recent studies on human tissues reveal that resveratrol has numerous receptors in the human epidermis – the outer layer of human skin.  This indicates that resveratrol might have the same protective and healing effects on humans as it does on animals.
Will resveratrol become a widespread component of sunscreens, lotions, moisturizers, and skin creams of all types? If these studies are any indication, there is a good chance of this.
